Norman Möschter

the man called river

There is a man called river
he sits down by the river,
all day in and all day out.

Some say that's not
his real name,
he himself states
that it's a real shame
no one knows,
so the story goes.

Rivers's walking in his
worn out shoes
and all his clothes
are hanging loose,
all day in and all day out.

He's got long hair
and counts the waves,
some sniff the air,
some say he needs a shave,
but no one knows
what the river knows
so on he goes,
along the river.

Then on a bridge
there is much to see,
down there the river
and in the distance
-eventually-
there is the sea.

Some say if you thought
like the river does,
you would know
what he knows
what the river knows,
but that's a long way to go,
along the river.
