Silent Prisons!

Four walls, a cell for time to rot,
Where freedom's breath is long forgot.
Strangers dictate rise and fall,
You're washed if they feel like it at all.

Monotony's the daily grind,
Routine that dulls both heart and mind.
Meals served cold in lifeless heaps,
Dignity's lost in dreamless sleep.

Morning "activities," sparse at best,
For those still spry—a few impressed.
While most just stare, eyes turned to dust,
In bodies broken, minds unjust.

The young decide when days are done,
They hold the keys, our fight is none.
Tablets skipped, appointments missed,
Life's end hastened by neglect’s fist.

Forgotten souls in distant lands,
Far from the city, out of hands—
So none can see the bitter shame,
The slow decline, the dying flame.

Relatives? Twice a year, if then,
For birthdays or for Christ’s Amen.
No doctors come, no help is near,
Loneliness whispers death’s cold cheer.

Condemned to wait, day’s dull repeat,
Freedom surrendered, death’s deceit.
Better to poison one’s own breath
Than face this half-life worse than death.

For profit feeds this grim machine,
Where humans die—unheard, unseen.
A plea: Wake up, break free this chain—
Or we’ll all face the same grim pain.
