Santa invites Father Time to special party

Santa Claus invited Father Time to his vacation home in Tennessee for a post-Christmas, pre-New Year’s holiday celebration.

Father Time arrived at the gala dressed in a brand new tuxedo that his wife, Mother Time, had sewn for the special occasion.

“I’ve never owned a red-white-and-blue tuxedo before,” said Father Time, as he and his wife rode to the party in their personal Minutes-and-Seconds Limousine.

“I’m glad you like it, Dear,” said Mother Time. “I know how patriotic you are, and I wanted to give you the opportunity to express your patriotism at tonight’s celebration.”

“Even though I enjoy the time I spend everywhere, I’ve considered America my home country for more than 200 years,” Father Time responded. “America is a great country.”

“I’ve never asked you this before,” said Mother Time. “What do you like the most about living in America?”

“I love having the freedom to attend church and worship the Lord Jesus Christ,” said Father Time. “He is in charge of everything. He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.”

Father Time continued, “Jesus is everything to me. I love Him with all my heart, and I thank Him every day for allowing me to live in the United States of America.”

Father Time and Mother Time arrived fashionably punctual to Santa’s party.

“Welcome to my home-sweet-away-from-my-North-Pole-home,” Santa said. “I’m glad you two could come to this party.”

“A few of my friends have been to some of your parties,” said Father Time. “And they said you are a terrific host. They said the thing they like the most about your parties is the way you lift up the Lord Jesus Christ.”

“He is my reason for living,” replied Santa. “And He has provided me with so many blessings. He allows me to have the best job in the world.”

“I must disagree with you,” said Father Time. “I believe the Lord has given the best job in the world to me.”

As Mrs. Santa entered the room, Mother Time told her that Santa and Father Time had been discussing which of them had the world’s best job.

“That’s easy,” said Mrs. Santa. “Neither of them has the best job in the world. That honor belongs to me.”

“Why do you say that?,” asked Mother Time.

“Santa has the job of delivering the toys to all the world’s good little girls and boys,” said Mts. Santa. “But he has the easy job. Someone has to decide what everyone is going to get. And the wonderful job of making those decisions belongs to me!”
