SLEEPY HOLLOW



In a small quiet town named Sleepy Hollow,
a devil roamed free, seeking souls to swallow.
Therefore help from New York came,
a bright young man named Ichabod Crane.
 
He didn't believe the villagers talking
of devils and witches an dead man walking.
The headless horseman, the villagers said,
came after Van Gerret's and his son's head.
Both men are dead, their crest the old mill,
Van Gerret's heads lost, likewise their will.
 
To seek the culprit, he thought was a man,
Ichabod Crane did the best he can,
but some of the villagers, he knew they were lying,
attracted the horseman, and people kept dying.
Solving a riddle is what he now craves:
Five in four, more bodies than graves.
A widow pregnant, the father not known.
Crane saw the horseman, felt fright to the bone.
 
In the dark woods, way deep in the ground
beneath the dead tree the last bones were found.
The tree is a gateway, a gateway to hell.
The horseman keeps rising, commanded by spell,
but his head is lost, taken by hands.
Whoever has it can give him commands.
 
The Van Gerret's fortune 's the price in the end.
That's why to relatives the horseman was send,
to all those in line of succession and heir
and their heads brought to the horseman's lair.
The widow and Van Gerret had secretly married
just shortly befor the first victims were burried.
 
An evil witch is in guilt for their doom,
but with all her doing she built her own tomb.
By trick and by fighting Crane got the  head
and freed from his contract the riding man dead.
As soon as the horseman got his head back
and placed it on top of his beheaded neck,
the witch lost her power and she lost her soul.
They both went to hell through the pitchblack hole.
 
There's a small quiet town named Sleepy Hollow.
A town that once knew tremendous sorrow.
Today it's merely a story to tell,
what happened at night to the ring of the bell.
But you should remember, you should not forget
how easily one can loose their head.
