Alterations in life
are mostly abrupt
and often painful.
A love you follow
only once
in the spring of your years.
Considerations take over
and carry you
into business and position –
sometimes into further happiness.
In the fall of your days
death throws shadows
already and takes
command of many things
around you.
Changes are bitter now
and lead
to empty waiting
…for what?
…for whom?
Seldom you get an answer
or the chance
for some new beginning
unless you take your fate
into your own hands
and squeeze it
till it’ll give you
something good in return…
That needs bravery.
