Writer´s Block

Seated at the bottom of my garden
in the shade of the willow tree.
My brain, is normally filled with inspirations,
but alas, not a flicker do I see.

Everyone calls it Writers Block,
when one’s brain ceases to function,
when words tumble around in your head,
But none paying heed to conjunction.

We sometimes find this when composing.
It hits us just like a bad dream.
Can’t find the word when trying to rhyme,
it’s enough to make anyone scream!

It’s no good bashing your head on the desktop,
because your fingers flop on the keyboard.
No matter how much you may ponder,
you just can’t find the right word.

You cringe when the kids get excited,
the cat tells you it wants to go out,
pop-ups bounce around on your screen,
and your sanity is left in doubt.

My advice to all budding writers
who occasionally experience this lock;
turn off the damned computer
and go for a walk round the block
