TWILIGHT: short song
… this murmur, this vibrant anointing as I walk, think and feel in solitude,
this unknowable being of fire and air, which I sense and smell and which accompanies me,
is the light;
and no, it was not among my clothes…, could it be here, perhaps among the thickets, waiting for me…???
… ah, if you were with me and could touch these golden sparkles,
- or inhale their essence of peace and good, and river, and thyme -
if you could, I say, fly and burn your heart with them and for them,
of how much, of how much could we talk,
of how much…;
… in the distance, like immortal guides, they have risen with their sword of fire and have torn the sky;
But I know that they are here with their soul tongues,
among this hubbub – I say – of stubble, poplars and birds burning me under the lute of being,
the flame in which to live;
… at my side, flirting, the two last butterflies have passed,
being and sharing the flower of the afternoon and of the world;
oh, instant, oh, oh joy!
