We don’t treat creatures equally
I’m not sure that we could,
we need
but not the
We’ll gladly find some tit bits
to feed to next doors Cat,
but phone the pest controller
at the first hint of a Rat.
We welcome Bees and Lady Birds
to pollinate and eat bugs,
but try to kill and rid ourselves
of our Snails and our Slugs.
We’ll gladly swat the Wasp and Fly
as they buzz around the house,
or go and buy ourselves a trap
to kill the lowly Mouse.
We’ll spray and kill the Green fly
as they make home on our plant,
we’ll buy and sprinkle powder
to obliterate the
No other creatures do this
It’s just a trait of man,
and the reason that we do it?
It’s just because we can.
I've seen many signs in car windows that say,
A Dog is for life, not just for Christmas.
Perhaps there ought to be another sign that reads,
A Turkeys just for Christmas, not for life.
