Erika Seetzen-Woods

Dear Grandma

I have always loved you.
Your understanding,
love and care
gave me the foundation
for loving, caring
and understanding.
You gave me the freedom
and tolerance
which I still enjoy today.
I was your little girl,
always happy, laughing,
dancing and singing.
I blossomed and unfolded
from your deep love.
You guided me throughout
with great kindness,
expressing approval
of my achievements.
You gave me the strength
to become` me`,
the individual
who made decisions
in later life
without hesitations.
You were the root of my being,
the mountain
of my achievements,
the tender of
my awareness
and the giver
of the sophisticated humour,
which I still enjoy today.
I accepted your wisdom
and peacemaking,
guiding me along the path
of childhood into womanhood.
